About Us
Todd Phillips | Certified Bikram Instructor
I began practicing Bikram Yoga in 1998 in one of the first Bikram Yoga Studios in the Pacific Northwest. Within just a few months of practicing regularly I experienced profound physical and mental transformations. Chronic back pain ceased and the seemingly constant stress of everyday life melted away. From then I knew I wanted to share this gift with others. Five years later after graduating from the University of Colorado I attended teacher training with Bikram in Los Angeles and have been enjoying sharing yoga and it’s powerful benefits ever since.
I first visited Costa Rica during college to study Spanish abroad. A dear friend of mine, now the owner of Casas Pura Vida, and I drove from Colorado to Costa Rica in approximately 3 weeks. My love affair with the country, it’s energy and people began here over 8 years ago. I’ve returned as often as possible and every time after spending time in the sun and sand, eating pure, fresh tropical cuisine and maintaining a hatha yoga practice I leave feeling powerfully refreshed, rejuvenated and ready to get back to work and all activities of life. My goal for hosting the Yoga Beach Retreat is to share a slice of the paradise, provide a healthy and rejuvenating week that leaves you feeling relaxed, rested, fulfilled and ready to take on whatever life beckons you to.
